Shlomo Amar
Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel and Jerusalem (Rishon LeZion)
Shlomo Amar is a prominent figure in the Jewish community, having served as the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel from 2003 to 2013. During his tenure, he held the esteemed position of Rishon LeZion, a title bestowed upon the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel. His term in office was marked by collaboration with his Ashkenazi counterpart, Yona Metzger, who served alongside him during this period.
Following his departure from the national chief rabbinate in 2013, Amar continued to play a significant role in Jewish leadership.
