Roots Tonic
2000s Rock Band
Roots Tonic was a three-piece rock-reggae band that emerged in the 2000s music scene. The band consisted of members Aaron Dugan, Josh Werner, and Jonah David, who came together to form a unique sound that blended elements of rock and reggae. As a group, they were closely associated with their work as the backing band for the renowned artist Matisyahu, both in live performances and studio recordings.
Through their collaboration with Matisyahu, Roots Tonic contributed to the creation of several notable albums, including two studio albums and a live album. The band's name gained recognition with its mention on the inside cover of Matisyahu's major label album Youth, released in 2006, as well as its dub version, Youth Dub. Although primarily recognized as Matisyahu's backing band, Roots Tonic established itself as a distinct entity within the music industry, leaving a mark on the rock-reggae genre of the 2000s.
