Berle's most notable role was as the host of NBC's Texaco Star Theatre, which he presented from 1948 to 1953. During this period, he became the first major American television star, earning the affectionate nicknames "Uncle Miltie" and "Mr. Television" among millions of viewers. His significant contributions to the world of entertainment were recognized with two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, honoring his work in both radio and television.
