Martin van Amerongen

Martin van Amerongen was a multifaceted figure in the Dutch literary scene, active as a journalist, publisher, columnist, and author. Born in 1941, he made significant contributions to the field of literature throughout his career. Van Amerongen's most notable position was as editor-in-chief of the news weekly De Groene Amsterdammer, a role he held from 1985 until his death in 2002, with the exception of a two-year hiatus from 1997 to 1999. During his tenure, he oversaw the publication's content and direction, leaving a lasting impact on the Dutch literary and journalistic landscape. Van Amerongen passed away in 2002, at the age of 61, leaving behind a legacy as a prominent figure in Dutch literature and journalism.
