Ira Rischowski was a pioneering engineer who made significant contributions to the field of technology. As one of the first female engineers in Germany, she broke ground for women in a traditionally male-dominated profession. Her early life and work were marked by her involvement in the German anti-Nazi resistance group Neu Beginnen, highlighting her commitment to social and political causes.

Rischowski's engineering career took a new turn when she fled to Britain, where she became an active member of the Women's Engineering Society. She served on the Council, leveraging her expertise and experience to support the organization's mission. Through her work, she encouraged and empowered British women to pursue careers in engineering, leaving a lasting legacy in the field of technology.
