Hillel Tigay

Hillel Tigay is an American musician who has explored various genres, including rock, alternative, Spanish, and Middle Eastern music. His early life exposed him to a diverse range of musical influences, which later shaped his unique sound. Tigay pursued higher education in musicology at the University of Pennsylvania, laying the groundwork for his future career in the music industry.
Tigay's professional journey began with stints at A&M Records and as a member of the Jewish rap group M.O.T., although these initial endeavors did not yield the desired success. A turning point came in 2005 when he became the chazzan and music director of IKAR, a Jewish congregation. This role led to the creation of the IKAR Music Lab, which enabled Tigay to release several albums and eventually form his own music group, Palms Station. With the support of congregants who were influential in the music industry, Tigay was able to establish himself as a talented musician, previously performing under the moniker Dr. Dreidle.
