Elsa Einstein

nicht en tweede echtgenote van Albert Einstein

Elsa Einstein was a figure in the life of renowned physicist Albert Einstein, to whom she was both wife and cousin. The two shared a familial connection, with their mothers being sisters, thus making them first cousins on their maternal side. Additionally, they were second cousins on their paternal side. Elsa was born into the Einstein family and initially retained the surname until her marriage to Max Löwenthal.

Her marriage to Löwenthal ended in divorce in 1908, after which Elsa and her daughters reverted to using the Einstein surname. Elsa later became the second wife of Albert Einstein, forming a unique familial and marital bond with him. While her own pursuits and interests are less documented, Elsa's life was intertwined with the intellectual and political circles that Albert Einstein moved in, including aspects of politics.
