Daniel Greer

Daniel Greer is an American lawyer who has been involved in the field of Judaism. He is the founder of the Yeshiva of New Haven, an institution focused on Orthodox Jewish education. In addition to his work in education, Greer has also been involved in politics, having once run for the Democratic nomination for a New York State Assembly District.

Greer's career took a significant turn when he was found liable for sexually abusing and raping a male student at his yeshiva, who was a teenager at the time of the abuse. This ruling was made in 2017. Two years later, in 2019, Greer was sentenced to 20 years in prison. As a result of his actions, he has also been disbarred as an attorney. Prior to these events, Greer had also been recognized as an Orthodox rabbi.
