Avraham Moshe of Peshischa

Avraham Moshe of Peshischa, also referred to as the Illui Hakudosh, was a prominent figure in the Peshischa community. He succeeded his father, R. Simcha Bunim Bonhardt of Peshischa, as the third Grand Rabbi of Peshischa following his father's passing in 1827. Avraham Moshe led a faction of the Peshischa community, characterized as less radical, for a period of two years.

His tenure as Grand Rabbi was marked by a relatively short leadership, lasting until his death in 1829. After his passing, his followers opted to recognize R. Israel Yitzhak Kalish of Vurka as his successor, thereby continuing the legacy of the Peshischa community. Although Avraham Moshe's time as Grand Rabbi was brief, his role in the community's history is notable, particularly in the context of the Peshischa dynasty's development and the transitions that occurred during that period.
