Aristobulus of Alexandria

Aristobulus of Alexandria was a prominent figure in the Hellenistic Jewish philosophical tradition, active in the 2nd century BC. As a member of the Peripatetic school, he was heavily influenced by the ideas of Aristotle, but his philosophical framework also incorporated elements from Platonic and Pythagorean thought. This eclectic approach allowed him to engage with a wide range of intellectual currents, reflecting the cultural exchange and syncretism characteristic of the Hellenistic era.

Aristobulus' philosophical project was centered on reconciling the principles of Greek philosophy with the teachings of the Hebrew Scriptures.
